History & Origin
Rinda rides the enormously popular -inda/-onda sound of the 1950s, reading as a trim cousin of Linda, Rhonda and Belinda. A separate, much older Rindr appears in Norse mythology, though most American Rindas simply echo the era's favorite rhymes.
Its faint U.S. peak came in the mid-1950s around 1957, squarely in the Linda-and-Rhonda years, before it faded. Only a few dozen girls a year ever carried it.
