Dazia

History & Origin

Dazia is a modern name most often understood as a variant of Dasia, which in turn echoes Daisy, the flower name from Old English dæges eage, 'day's eye'. In practice Dazia was frequently coined for its crisp, contemporary sound, so its link to Daisy is more stylistic than strictly etymological.

Dazia stayed rare, given to only a few dozen girls a year around its peak in the mid-nineties before fading within about two decades. A girl named Dazia then is now a young adult, so the name reads as a nineties coinage rather than part of the wider vintage-flower revival.
