Kids do the funniest things - Fun Video!

I found this video and wanted to share. While this video is german, it is still fun to watch, and who says Germans don’t have a sense of humor? Some things, including kids, are just universal, it shows just how small the world really is and how much the same we all are.

This video shows how kids can do the funniest things without meaning it!! After a hectic day, coming home to our kids we may find the urge to get upset at them when they do something wrong, when in reality it may not be there fault!! After all, kids are just kids. Without sounding too philosophical, I think we need to keep the proper perspecitve and enjoy the time we have with them, we need to laugh with them, and cherish our time together. After all, they are just kids and we only get one shot at raising them.

Funny Baby Videos - Kids Laugh At The Funniest Things!

Sometimes the simple things in life can be the most enjoyable. Check out this video I found. Who would have ever thought that ripping a piece of paper can entertain a baby so much? I laughed so hard when I saw this that I almost fell over myself. Kids laugh at the funniest things. You just have to find what it is. For my 1 year year old, he laughs when I juggle for him and bounce a ball off my head, or when I drop my juggling balls. I don’t have to try too hard at that… Enjoy the video and happy Saturday…

Parenting and Taming The Video Game Monster

boy totally engrossed in video gamesby Stacey Schifferdecker

Yes, I’m old, as my children gleefully tell me. The thing is, I really don’t get video games. I don’t understand what the attraction is and I really have no interest in finding out. My boys, however, could play for hours. They’re even happy just watching someone else play.

Now, my boys are not video game couch potatoes. They both play sports, take music lessons, hang out with friends, read books, do chores, and are active in church. Still, given a choice of activities, video games still rank very high, especially for my nine-year-old. To help keep his enjoyment of video games from turning into an obsession, I have found it very important to set strict guidelines about when, what, and for how long my boys can play.

Hillary Clinton Today Proposes Expanding Health Care For Children

Hillary Clinton and Rep. John Dingell today introduced the Childrens First Health Act. If passed. it will make health care for children more affordable and help plug the whole of some 9 million children in the US that do not have health insurance. Politically I have not made any decisions yet for president and I know health care is reform is widely debated. I look at this issue not only from a parent but also from a child who had chronic health issues, was hospitalized, and visited the emergency room many many times. To me its a crime so many parents in the U.S. have to skimp on their childrens health care because of rising costs or just not being able to pay for it. Our children are our future. I don’t feel its a matter of whether we can afford it or not, its more of a matter that we can no longer afford not to.

Here is Hillary’s video where she explains her proposal and justification for the Children’s First Health Act.

Family Time Management - Tips for Daily Living

a busy and multi-tasking momJuggling a family, a career and a relationship with our significant other can be a challenge for a family. With two children ourselves, a husband in a demanding career, and being a work at home mom, I know our lives can be very interesting to say the least. Here is a list of tips for daily living that can help manage your time and may help make things a little less hectic:

  • Keep it simple, give two choices instead of asking “what do you want ____”
  • Set limits on things like television, video games, and phone chatter … for everyone in the household.  Eliminates arguing and gets everyone doing other things
  • Make adjustments when you have to, you can’t be everywhere at once
  • Don’t forget to consider your travel time, prep time, clean up time, waiting time
  • Deal with things as they happen, (the mail came, sort it now instead of waiting until later - also eliminates clutter that you would have to clean up later)
  • Get involved in a car pool to get kids where they need to go, school, soccer, baseball, football … sharing these tasks save you and someone else time and gas money!
  • Follow routines and schedules, such as getting up at the same time and leaving at the same time daily…create a pattern/routine get home, do your homework, 30 minutes to watch tv/play game/read, dinner, get a bath, quiet time, bedtime

Nurturing Creativity Part 1

by Lacy Shelton

When I was a child my time was spent outside playing “make-believe” in the backyard with my brothers. We focused on doing things that were fun for us, this could include many different things but among them were those games that allowed us to create a world all our own. With today’s youth however it is becoming the norm to just play games that are already created for you. Video games are among the most popular toys children play with. Even toddlers now have video games catering to them. Yes it is great for children to use these games to help with their hand-eye coordination and many other basic functions, and sure they are a lot of fun, but adults need to remember that a lot of a child’s cognitive learning comes from actually creating and developing things for them to act out.

Get Out And Vote! Compare The Candidates

Get out and Vote: Election 2008 Tuesday November 4th
by Kevin Heath

get out and vote on November 4thAt More4kids we are not only business owners, but parents as well. Like many of our readers we have been hit very hard this last year and the last several years. With so many families struggling and in desperate need for help in this economy, this year is more important than ever to vote. As parents it is also important to remember that we also vote for our children, and their future.

Let’s try to cut through the rhetoric and the negative campaigning we have seen this year to get right to the issues. It’s important to understand where both candidates stand on the issues and feel confident in them to carry out their plans. Economy, Jobs and Health Care are in my opinion as a parent the most important issues this year.

Maximizing Your Family Time

multi tasking MomWe all want a happy family and to spend more time with them. I don’t know about your family, but ours is extremely busy with work, other commitments, etc. Unfortunately our children sometimes feel the consequences of this by not spending time with their greatest role models, their parents. We have so much impact on our children and are their first role models. So what are we to do? We need to work, put food on the table. What is important is that when we are with our children to make sure we are completely focused on spending good quality time with them and developing a closer connection  with them.

Review: Nintendo Wii and Accessories

Group fitness for a class bundle #37 (includes 1 Wii System, 1 Wii Carrying Case, 1 Nunchuk Controller, 1 Remote Controller, 1 Wii Sports, 1 DDR Hottest Party g The Nintendo Wii Increases Fitness and Encourages Family Activities. It is in high demand this year, as it has been since it was first released. It isn’t only seasoned gamers who are asking for this game console, the Wii has appeal to everyone.  Some places are limiting how many can be purchased per household each month to try to keep up with supply and demand. One console can be used by 4 players at once so the only reason families would have to purchase multiple consoles would be to use as gifts. And these make great gifts. Age doesn’t matter; the Wii has something for everyone from preschoolers to seniors.

This isn’t your ordinary sit-on-your-butt-in-front-of-the-television type game. This game console has put active into interactive games. The Wii comes with Wii Sports, a set of sports that can be played with the Wii console and Remote individually or in groups. Players control their onscreen characters by their movements.
