I&#039;ve see teen girls in my practice that are too uncomfortable to call their friends on the phone because texting is the &#039;in&#039; way to communicate. electronic communications certainly have their place, but the impact on development is very real. Distraction, compulsivity, and underdeveloped relational skills are real threats to our teens because of social networking, texts, etc. Thanks to Stephanie Partridge and Dr. Jenn.
